The new squash season is now underway - the leagues are available and have been published. The new season runs for 6 weeks until Saturday 10th December 2016! Please see usual link http://www.squash-league.co.uk/ The Dan James League!
Congratulations to Dan James who had the best overall statistics from last season therefore the new league is called 'The Dan James League' New Players
Welcome to all new players and you should have already received your website login details allowing you to contact other members to arrange games and to update scores. Division Names
The division names have now full moved over to the new naming convention. So we now have 'Premier', 'Division 1', 'Division 2' and so on instead of the old 'A1', 'A2', 'C3' etc.
May take some getting used to but it should be cleaner in the long run.
Court Bookings and Payment for Courts Please may we remind all players that the responsibility to cover the cost of courts booked for a date that has been agreed in advance by both players has to be shared. Where on occasions players agree to play and then cancel last minute or for another reason do not turn up, it is expected that the cost of the court is covered by that person or at least half the court is paid for regardless of whether or not the game is played. It cannot fall to the person booking the court to end up paying for the whole court unless of course they themselves have had to cancel last minute for some urgent reason. New Planned Sports Centre for Maidenhead You may have seen in the local paper that there are discussions underway within the local community regarding the development of a new local sports centre to replace the Magnet! The plans currently propose just 2 courts for the new facility and we of course do not think that is enough. We are planning to engage with the local borough planners in the near future and would appreciate any support or efforts you can make individually and as part of the group to help encourage the addition of one or two more courts to allow the leagues and teams that play out of the current Magnet centre to continue and even flourish over time.
Berkshire Squash League
A reminder that we have 3 teams in the Berkshire squash league and so far, all teams are performing well.
To keep up to date with the teams progress, simply visit http://www.berkshiresquash.org/leagues/winter/ and select Tables or Fixtures for Division 2B, 3B and 4A you will see the Maidenhead teams and dates of next games!
Good luck to all for the new season.
